The revelations this week from Gordon Cobb, Innovation Minister Richard Brown’s aide, are driving nails in the Liberal government coffin. The latest Guardian story Guardian: PNP adviser quits over ‘bad decisions’ is another nail in the Liberal coffin. Cobb is essentially saying the program was as bad or worse than the rumours.Ghiz is whistling past the graveyard with his attempts to disparage Cobb “It’s unfortunate that we have a disgruntled employee who is upset basically because his advice wasn’t taken,” Ghiz said.” Expect worse comments to come.
The cover-up will become, as we predicted, bigger than the scandal itself which happened with Nixon in the Watergate scandal. We made the Watergate connection on September 28, 2008 with the story Smoking Gun and the video I am not a crook on October 3, 2008.
This is the same smear technique Ghiz tried on this writer when we started to expose the sham called the Disability Services Review Committee. While the Review Committee was ostensibly set-up to provide reform for disability services, the Ghiz government stacked it with members on the payroll and loyal to the government.
This served their goal of stalling any improvements like seniors getting wheelchairs. See Silence on the needs of disabled persons.
It will not work because people know Gordon Cobb just like they know me.
Minister Currie tried to damn me with an “in-the-way” slur in the Legislature. Yes, I am “in-the-way” when you lie and cheat seniors out of DSP coverage. Sorry, no apologies for honest advocacy.
And Gordon Cobb will not have to apologize for honesty and candour either.
Gordon Cobb Liberal Campaign Manager and Brown confidant
None of the local media has revealed so far that Cobb was a personal friend of Minister Brown and his campaign manager in the past election. Their relationship goes back decades.
Similarly Richard Brown and I have been friends for decades. However, even friendship cannot excuse blatant unethical behaviour on the scale of the PNP. It’s a testimony to our relationship that Richard is still friendly to me.
My advice to Richard in September was and remains the same: cut and run. Richard was not the master mind of the PNP scheme and he should not go down with the ship. Ghiz loathes Richard Brown and will cut him lose when the time is right, just like Nixon threw John Ehrlichman and Bob Haldeman to the wolves.
I have known Gordon Cobb for about 5 years. He is the most mild mannered gentleman you can meet. Easy going and genial, Gordon is always ready with a smile and kind word. The Guardian photo above says it all. Behind the smile is a disarmingly intelligent person who could out-fox the outrageous Tory dirty-tricks in the last provincial election.
I was personally surprised Gordon continued with the Ghiz government as long as he did, knowing the Liberal PNP shenanigans are not Cobb’s sort of work. Working on the inside of an issue you keep trying despite the evil around you, hoping to save the day. Then the day comes when you know it’s time to cut and run.
Cobb reached the limit of his tolerance for the unethical and illegal activity of the Ghiz government.
Ghiz loses all credibility with people who know Gordon. Of course Premier Ghiz has proven himself to be a colossal liar and this is just one more example. No one takes Ghiz’s word for anything.
More PNP revelations can be expected from career bureaucrats who were forced to participate in an unethical or criminal scheme such as the PNP scheme and cover-up.
They have careers spanning decades and are not likely to hide wrongdoing for the young Ghiz.
We eagerly await the stories but what will it mean for the government of PEI?

[...] Gordon Cobb’s defection and confessionwas the nail in Ghiz coffin. It wasn’t the final nail, just a big one. [...]
